TTA in Minnesota

See what Sixth Amendment work is happening in Minnesota.

We worked with criminal legal system stakeholders in Duluth, MN to:

  • Host two webinars, one for all legal system actors on the legal, constitutional, and procedural components of court challenges to jury representativeness; and one for defenders focusing on discovery and litigating fair cross section challenges.
    • The recordings of the attorney program are available on the our LMS. 

We worked with criminal legal system stakeholders in St Louis County, MN to:

  • Analyze perspectives related to representative juries, with the input of area and national subject matter experts. A report on our findings is forthcoming.

We are working with the Victim-Witness Outreach Office of the County Attorney’s Office in Carver County, MN to:

  • Identify barriers for low-income victims and witnesses, especially those in more rural parts of the county to participate in the court system
  • Examine gaps in resources and language related barriers for the region’s refugee population and helping to develop tools and resources to improve access
